This year’s sermon slam takes place IN PERSON at the Virginia Theological Seminary, with an option for virtual participation by zoom. Each year, the sermon slam features 7-9 gifted student preachers from the various Consortium schools. The evening includes brief, prepared homilies, plus a “lightning round” where preachers speak impromptu. On display are distinct church traditions of preaching, distinct personal styles, and insightful exegeses. Come learn about different preaching traditions and styles, and enjoy the food, drink, and fellowship. HIGHLIGHT event of the year!
This Scripture passage for this slam is Jesus and the Samaritan Woman (John 4:7–15).
