The Museum of the Bible describes itself as “an innovative, global, educational institution whose purpose is to invite all people to engage with the history, narrative and impact of the Bible.” It does so through four main initiatives:

• The Museum itself:  Opened in 2017, the Museum of the Bible’s 430,000-square-foot building is located just three blocks from the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., and aims to be among the most technologically advanced and engaging museums in the world. Showcasing rare and fascinating artifacts spanning 4,000 years of history, the museum offers visitors an immersive and personalized experience with the Bible and its ongoing impact on the world.
• Travelling Exhibitions: These exhibits have traveled across the country and around the world. We have brought the story of the Bible to Oklahoma City, Atlanta, Charlotte, Colorado Springs, Springfield (MO), the Greater Los Angeles area, The Vatican, Jerusalem, Israel, Havana and Santiago, Cuba, and numerous colleges and universities.
• Education: The Museum is dedicated to expanding knowledge and encouraging learning for all ages around the world. Their Bible curriculum engages students with the history, narrative, and impact of the Bible through augmented reality technology.
• Research: The Tel Shimron Excavation is a research initiative of the Museum, Wheaton College, and Tel Aviv University. This excavation seeks to understand the ancient world, including the world of the Bible, through rigorous archaeological investigation. Additionally, the academic research wing of Museum, the Scholars Initiative fosters biblical research at colleges, universities, and seminaries across the world, planning and supporting academic projects related to the languages and material culture of the Bible, and capitalizing on artifacts in the Museum Collections.
