Share a greeting this month to your Muslim friends: “Blessed Ramadan” or “Ramadan Mubarak.” DO attend an Iftar, breaking fast meal, if you are invited!
Ramadan explained by a Muslim colleague:
The time has come for this years Ramadan; May 6 to June 4, 2019.
Muslims start fasting before dawn (SEHR) and break the fast at sunset (IFTAR) and dinner is served after sunset prayer (MUGHRIB).
Ramadan is another name for compassion. One of the features of Ramadan is to endure hunger and think of others who have cannot get a meal. Our compassion should be invoked! and desire to feed hungry people. Charity becomes a high virtue for fasting people by showing sympathy to those suffering and unfortunate people to bring their living standard up.
Many mosques have special Iftar meals in the evening where visitors are welcome. Look for an Iftar in your area, and see if you might get an invitation!
