Over 10 Faculty Area Groups met at the annual Faculties’ Convocation to build collegial networks and make plans for professional development events in the coming year.  Some of those plans and their coordinators include:

Arts and Religion:   special tour of the upcoming Marian exhibit at the National Museum of Women in the Arts. (Deborah Sokolove, Wesley)

Biblical Studies:   Plan to hold a workshop this winter on pedagogy in the teaching of the Bible with presenters  from two area schools. (Robert Miller, CUA)

Science & Religion:   Will hold a forum in Spring term on artificial intelligence and its implications for theology (Connie Bertka, Smithsonian, adjunct Wesley)

Practical/Pastoral Theology:   Plan a web-conference with lead investigator of a congregational studies project addressing immigration (Lynne Caldwell, Samuel Proctor, VUU)

We look forward to hearing soon from other groups about their plans!!
