Friends:
The busy season continues.
In busy times I drink more coffee.
Our annual New Student Prayer Service and Dinner
at Catholic University was particularly well organized this year.
Shannon McAllister Chair of the Consortium Student Board and Kathy Pluth, the Consortium
Director of Communications, arranged for Brother Ezra Sullivan of Dominican House to give a tour of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for the students from Gettysburg.
The Prayer Service had good singing and a fine message from our preacher Dean Tom Reist of WTU. He joked about the role of the Dean [only ‘irregularities’ get to him] and talked in serious terms about dialogue and perseverance in listening to one another– using the example of Francis of Assissi and the Sultan [an example I knew existed but had never heard the details of].
I enjoyed the discussion after dinner at the Josephites–I always learn something from the sharing. God works in very different ways in bring folks from this country and from overseas to seminary.
Peace,
John
