The Orientale Lumen Foundation is dedicated to fostering Christian unity and understanding by bringing together believers from different Eastern and Western church traditions. The Foundation sponsors annual ecumenical conferences, overseas pilgrimages, and it offers audio and video recordings of lectures, liturgies and other events on CD, DVD, streaming video and podcasts.

Started in 1997 in Washington, DC, the yearly ecumenical conferences are a “grass roots” movement among lay persons and clergy to provide a forum for Christians to learn about the “light from the east.”  The conferences bring Eastern Orthodox, Eastern Catholics, Roman Catholics and other Christians to meet and pray together, learn from each other’s traditions, and form ecumenical friendships dedicated to a common goal: “that they all may be one” in the One Church of Christ

Its sister organization, Eastern Christian Publications offers scores of books and other resources to advance the West’s appreciation for and knowledge of Eastern Christian traditions and developments in the Ecumenical movement.
