  • Annual Friends’ Reception, Georgetown University

    April 19, 2016
    6:30 - 8:30

This year’s  Friends’ of the Consortium Reception takes place in a beautiful setting: the historic Riggs Library at Georgetown University (in old Healy Hall).  Join us for welcomes from Sam Wagner, Fr. Leon Hopper, SJ, and Gerard Manion of Georgetown, as they discuss

“The Woodstock Library, Ecumenism, and the University.”

We will also have a lovely Silent Auction, with artwork, favorite books, travel and recreation events, and more available for your review and bidding!    Silent Auction Items 2016 sample

A full Reception follows.   No charge, but donations are invited at the event.

The Riggs Library served as Georgetown’s main library until 1970. The  construction was supervised by architect Paul Pelz, whose firm also designed Healy Hall and the Library of Congress. Riggs is one of the few remaining cast iron libraries in the country.  A brief tour of the library will be available.

Parking is available on nearby streets in Georgetown and in campus garage off of Canal Rd.  Visit here for a Georgetown Campus Map.

This is a festive event, with new friends, insightful discussion, and a lovely reception.   Donations encouraged; all are welcome, if you RSVP here!         (or call 202-832-2675).
