The Institute for Islamic, Christian, and Jewish Studies (ICJS) is a free-standing, educational non-profit organization that concentrates on disarming religious hatred through interfaith study and dialogue. For over twenty-seven years, we have been offeringprograms for clergy, seminarians, scholars, educators, and the general public. By shaping a new relationship between Christians, Jews, and Muslims, the ICJS addresses the contemporary challenges of religious pluralism through our scholarship, teaching, and outreach.
The ICJS affirms the distinctiveness, wisdom, and beauty of each faith tradition while examining sources of conflict among and within our religious communities. We develop new ways to understand and engage problematic texts and practices, equipping individuals to examine their assumptions, wrestle with conflicting points of view, and risk uncertainty in a setting of respect, trust, and openness.
Building learning communities where religious difference
becomes a powerful force for good.
