    ford-1The winner of the Consortium’s Ecumenism Award for 2015 is Dr. John Ford, CSC of the Catholic University of America.   Dr. Ford is known for his years of service to the ecumenical movement, including the Faith and Order Commission (NCC), Christian Churches Uniting, and Catholic-Methodist and Catholic-Reformed dialogues.   This ecumenical spirit informs his groundbreaking scholarship on Cardinal Newman, and his initiatives in Hispanic Theological Education. He will offer the Sixth Annual Figel Address on Ecumenism entitled:

     

    Vatican II’s “Decree on Ecumenism” at Age Fifty:
    Exhausted Inheritance or Living Legacy?

     Dr. Ford will address the challenges and future legacy of this Decree, which has become one ofthe most influential documents on Ecumenism in the last century.

    Student Board Prayer Figel 2014 croppedThe evening begins with a Prayer Service for the Week of Christian Unity, organized bythe Board of Students of the Consortium, followed by a Reception and the Lecture.   The event will be at the Dominican House of Studies, February 10, 5:30-8:30 pm.
