Recent steps forward in ecumenical relations between the Eastern Orthodox and the Roman Catholic Church are remarkable and historic.  An Orthodox Council in Crete and an Ecumenical Agreement reached at Chieti have opened the door to recognition of the unique oversight of the Bishop of Rome by both traditions.   The East-West relations about what “divides” and “unites” also open up new possibilities for dialogue with Protestant churches.   Fr. John Erickson, former Dean of St. Vladimir’s Seminary will address these issues and more at the Figel Event on Ecumenism on February 9th in the evening (see Events page).  The Student Board will also help lead us in a co-presided Moleben service for Church Unity, in the Eastern Rite.  Hope you can be with us.
