Members of all Consortium institutions meet in ecumenical discussion groups, according to academic disciplines. Several groups have made plans for the 2009-2010 academic year:
- The Arts—Peggy Parker and Deborah Sokolove are trying to arrange a spring semester event
- Biblical Studies—Dr. Yieh is arranging the annual conference—he is planning for April 19th.
- Christian Ethics—met at Wesley on November 2 nd to discuss Charles Taylor’s book, A Secular Age—John Corbett kicked off the discussion; will meet again April 26 th at 5:30 PM Wesley Extension at Mount Vernon Square.
- Church History—met Monday, November 16 th at Dominican and heard Fr. John O’Malley of Georgetown University speak about the interpretations of Vatican II.
- Ecumenism Faculty—annual dinner was held on February 23rd
- Lay Formators—meet in spring semester
- Librarians-- November 5 th at WTU at 10:00 a.m; March 24 th at 10:00 a.m. the continuing education event will take place at the Museum of African Art; will meet on May 5 th at 11:00 a.m.at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, PA.
- Mission and World Religions—will attend the inaugural Al-Alwani Lecture, March 11 th at VTS
- Pastoral Studies and Field Education.—considering a Spring meeting
- Practical Theology—December meeting had to be postponed
- Preaching—worked together at the Academy of Homiletics Meeting which took place in Washington in early December; Dr. Lucy Hogan of Wesley was the local coordinator; the Consortium sponsored the Opening Reception.
- Science and Religion—sponsored a public lecture on November 14 th by Dr. Ulanowicz; met on December 4 th and February 26 th at 12:00 at WTU; will sponsor Spring Public Lecture by Dr. at WTU on Saturday, March 20 th and will meet again on April 23 rd with the Environmental Group
- Spirituality—will co-sponsor Marc Foley’s spirituality lecture on April 10th at WTU
- Systematic Theology –met on Friday, February 12 th in the late afternoon at PFIC; Msgr. McPartlan spoke and led a discussion on Orthodox-Catholic Dialogue
- Environmentalists—will hold a joint spring meeting with the Science and Religion Group on April 23rd
